Lorenzo Ferrante is an Italian filmmaker, cinematographer, and creative technology leader based in New York City. His passion for visual storytelling began at an early age through stop-motion animation and miniature filmmaking.

After earning a degree in Visual Arts in Milan, he started his career in the Italian film and advertising industry, working between Milan and Rome as a director, cinematographer, editor, and producer. During this time, Lorenzo wrote, directed, and produced several narrative short films that received international recognition, earning 23 awards and 54 festival nominations, including the prestigious Nastro d’Argento (Silver Ribbon) in Italy.

After relocating to the United States, Lorenzo collaborated with leading brands across fashion, luxury, entertainment, and commercial media. His work took him across multiple continents, producing documentary and branded content with a particular interest in social, cultural, and environmental storytelling.

Driven by a passion for innovation, he gradually expanded his focus beyond traditional filmmaking and into emerging media technologies. Throughout his career, he has helped develop new production workflows and creative methodologies across Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Volumetric Capture, Motion Capture, Photogrammetry, Real-Time Rendering, Artificial Intelligence, and Virtual Production.

In 2022, Lorenzo co-designed the first and largest Virtual Production stage in Manhattan, helping establish a new benchmark for Virtual Production in New York City. Today, as Head of Virtual Production and Creative, he oversees projects from concept through final delivery while helping shape the future of content creation at Pier59 Studios. By exploring emerging technologies and developing new production methodologies, he works at the intersection of storytelling, innovation, and technical execution.
